Merum Terms of Use

Effective date: October 26, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Deadrise Systems LLC d/b/a Merum. When they say "we" or "Merum," they mean Deadrise Systems LLC, a Virginia company. By creating an account or using the Merum app, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and what we do with it, and is part of these terms.

General

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. You may use Merum only for your own accounts, or for accounts you are authorized to view. Merum is offered in the countries and regions where the App Store lists it; that listing, not these terms, decides where you can get it.

You can create an account with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple. If you use both with the same confirmed email address, they open the same account; an address Apple hides for you opens an account of its own. Keep your password and your Apple ID to yourself, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.

The Merum app, its design, its name and this website are ours. Your license to use the app on your Apple devices is the one in Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and these terms add to it. These terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Merum or for supporting it.

What Merum does, and what it does not

Merum shows one view of what you own and owe. It reads balances and holdings from the accounts you connect, through the companies you authorize to share them with us, and adds what you enter yourself. Merum only reads. It never moves, trades or holds your money or any other asset.

Merum is not a bank, a broker, an investment adviser or a tax adviser. Nothing in Merum is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.

The figures Merum shows come from the companies you connect, from market prices and exchange rates, and from what you type. Any of them can be late, incomplete or wrong. We cannot promise that any figure is accurate, complete or current. Before you act on a figure, check it with the institution that holds the account.

When you connect an account, you also deal with the company that connects it and the institution that holds it, under their own terms. We are not responsible for what they do or for their services being available.

The subscription

Connecting and refreshing accounts needs a Merum subscription, which starts with a free trial, unless we have given you access another way.

If your subscription ends

If your subscription ends or a payment fails for good, we keep your data. You can still open Merum and see your figures as of their last update, marked with that date, but Merum stops refreshing them and you cannot connect new accounts. 75 days after your subscription ends, we release your connections, which means we stop reading from those accounts. Each holding keeps its last value and the date it was read. We do not delete anything. If you subscribe again, everything resumes, and you reconnect any connection we released. To have your data deleted, delete your account as the privacy policy describes.

Forbidden activity

Do not:

Ending your use of Merum

You can stop using Merum at any time, and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect Merum or other people, and we will tell you when we are able to.

Your responsibility to us

If someone brings a claim against us because of how you used Merum, because you connected or viewed an account you were not authorized to, or because you broke these terms, you will defend us and cover the losses, costs and reasonable attorneys' fees we incur because of it.

No promises beyond these

As far as the law allows, we provide Merum as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not promise that Merum will always be available, will be free of errors, or will show any figure correctly.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for lost profits or lost data, or for any decision you make using what Merum shows. Our total liability for any claim about Merum is limited to what you paid for Merum in the twelve months before the claim. Some states do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Disputes, and the law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law.

If you have a dispute with us about these terms or about Merum, tell us first at [email protected], and we will try to resolve it with you within 60 days. If we cannot, you and we agree that it will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator, and not in court. Claims are brought one person at a time, never as a class or representative action. The arbitration takes place in Virginia or, if you prefer, by phone or video, and the arbitrator's award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court. You may opt out of this agreement to arbitrate by emailing us within 30 days of first accepting these terms. Nothing here takes away a right that the consumer protection laws where you live give you and do not let you give up.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version.

Severability

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Merum. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part at some point, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms to someone else; we may transfer them if Merum is sold or merged, and they will still apply.
